Mark Jervis

Mark joined Smith Bros in 1975 and has worked in all areas of the business before being made a director in 1991.

 

In 2011/12 as Sales Director working closely with Local Authorities & Housing Associations, he developed a number of key strategic relationships with customers and manufacturers focused on emerging renewable technology and pivotally, in providing project funding that would enable the adoption of carbon saving solutions.

 

Mark’s passion in renewable solutions and the whole area of energy transformation has continued, entailing long term investment in trials and testing a number of technologies targeted at helping customers meet their carbon reduction targets and assisting in lessening the burden of fuel poverty. This passion and investment has positioned Smith Bros as a leading provider of renewable solutions through Helix50, a joint venture company bringing together a number of like-minded individuals and committed companies. 

Dave Deegan

Dave has held a number of director level roles with both SME’s and PLC organisations, including Wolseley PLC, Climate Capital Change, Larkfleet Group & Northern Gas with wide experience in securing and delivering large scale renewable solutions.

 

Dave, brings this background and a passion to engender change in renewable solutions to a strong leadership team in Helix50. His executive-level leadership and strategic thinking is integral to maintaining a consistent trajectory of growth for Helix50 and his experience is hugely beneficial in overseeing large contracts and the company’s commitment to change mapped against the energy transformation agenda.

 

This process requires funding and Dave is the architect behind a series of unique infrastructure project funding models for existing and new energy products with internationally recognised, green funding enterprises.  

Dan O'Hara

Dan joined Helix50 as Chief Executive Officer; founding its Electric Vehicle Charging business Helix EV Ltd.

 

A multi-disciplinary executive with extensive industry experience within the utilities sector, strong operational leadership of service-oriented workforces and track record of developing strategy and delivering change. 

 

He builds high performing teams, expert in business development and passionate about delivering financial results through innovation and technology.

Before Helix EV, Dan was on the Executive for Electric Blue Ltd where he restructured, rebranded, and rebuilt the business for the founders to obtain investment. Prior to Electric Blue Ltd, Dan worked independently advising banks and investment funds on energy strategy, this also included working with BEIS and more recently OLEZ. 

 

Prior to working as an independent energy consultant, Dan held senior leadership in SSE PLC during his accomplished 28 years' service, he was, director of industry change, where his was responsible for all legal and regulatory change, leading the retail, wholesale and generation change strategy, he was a member of the respective leadership teams. He was director of business development, leading on numerous acquisitions, joint ventures, and capital investments for SSE PLC Group. 

Dan graduated from the University of Oxford with a first-class honour's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a first-class law degree. His Master's in Business Management comes from the Southampton Business School.
